There are tons of hotels in Northern England; It also depends where you’re staying, and with so many options which hotel do you choose? Here are some of my favourite places to stay in different locations across the north of England.

Headlam Hall Hotel, Darlington

A beautiful country house in the walled gardens boasting its own spa and golf course whilst enjoying rural peace and tranquillity. Despite being out the way it also has great transport links to the city with good food and good wine it ticks every box you would need from a hotel.

The Chester Grosvenor Hotel, Cheshire

This historic hotel situated in the heart of Chester was built in 1865 and has been awarded 5 stars by AA. Individually designed unique bedrooms and two award winning restaurants it’s really one of the best in the country. Ideal for city or business breaks it will compliment any trips.

The Beech Hill Hotel, Cumbria

Situated in a perfect natural location with a panoramic view of Lake Windermere with the mountain of Coniston’s old man right in the centre of it. A massive 57 bedrooms with 52 of them offering lake side views it’s the perfect get away. The beech hill hotels have also won several awards for best food.

Middle Thorpe Hall & Spa Hotel, York

Close to York’s city with a massive 20 acres of land the huge hall has been restored and is now in tip top condition. Fine furniture and paintings consistent with the age of the house. It has a beautiful classical flair to the place and is comfortable and cosy.

Close house Hotel & Golf, Newcastle upon Tyne

This 18th Century mansion now has a modern interior fitted with lovely period style furniture. A great golf course is outside the hotel as well attracting professional golfers with a very modern No.19 club house.
